From 28 to 31 August 2025, the Rabenberg Sports Park was once again transformed into a lively meeting place for around 72 sports enthusiasts from Leipzig, Dresden and the surrounding area. We were also there, represented by 11 people this year. The weekend was all about sport, fun and community – and offered a colourful mix of training, leisure and socialising.
After getting to know each other in the gym on Friday evening, the action got underway straight away: the first badminton and volleyball sessions ensured an energetic start. During the camp, participants were able to try their hand at numerous disciplines, including indoor swimming, table tennis, beach volleyball, badminton and even a hike on Saturday. It was also possible to earn a sports badge, so that both ambitious athletes and relaxed exercise enthusiasts got their money’s worth.
The badminton matches were particularly popular, with beginners and professionals alike participating with enthusiasm and enjoyment. In volleyball – whether indoors or on the sand court – colourful mixed teams ensured exciting games and intense training sessions. Finally, swimming provided an opportunity for endurance and relaxation after heated rallies.
In addition to the sports programme, there was also plenty of time for socialising: new contacts were made, friendships deepened and lots of laughter shared during the barbecue on Saturday evening, breakfast on Sunday and informal gatherings at the edge of the playing field. The cheerful atmosphere, the many conversations and the shared experiences made the weekend a real highlight.
This year’s SLS visit to Rabenberg was once again a complete success – characterised by team spirit, exercise and enthusiasm. A big thank you goes to the organisers from SC Rosa Löwen e.V., who have been organising this camp with great commitment for many years and invite us to be part of this special community every time. We are already looking forward to the next edition – whether in summer or winter.
